The Bluebacks Chapter was founded in 2013 and our territory reaches south to the Calapooia River, up to the North Santiam River, east into the foothills of the Cascades and west to the Oregon Coast.

We RESTore & conserve

Our focus on collaborative conservation projects has allowed us to partner with local organizations and agencies, to enhance our volunteer-powered impact.

Hosting multiple citizen science surveys and river clean-ups throughout the year, we give people the opportunity to get out on the water, both by wading and by boat, to connect with rivers that we love and leave them better than we found.

We Educate & outreach

In partnership with Linn-Benton Salmon Watch, we support their educational programming with donations from our chapter and volunteer hours to enable more students to learn about salmonid biology, riparian health, water quality and more. More information can be found in the “projects” page.

In addition to our monthly chapter meetings and women’s initiative meetings, we host the Fly Fishing Film Tour every year. We also participate in numerous community events, like the NW Fly Tying & Fishing Expo and Septembeerfest.
